Option to email chat transcript

It would be good if on the live chat there was an option for the customer to email themselves a transcript of the live chat (e.g. like Amazon support or Ladesk helpdesk solution)

This would be a fantastic addition


Hey guys, this would be a useful addition, but we will not be taking up this feature for now, as an email transcript can be sent to the customer easily through a ticket creation. That being said, if we get more requests for this, we will definitely revisit further down the year.

This is something we would really like. Our previous chat software allowed it and it's something our customers request regularly since we switched to Freshdesk.

This would be a really great feature. Then we wouldn't have to unnecessarily create a ticket to send the conversation to the customer.


Customers ask for this all the time.  The option needs to be available on their side to email themselves the transcript.

I'm evaluating this software.  Both end user (requester) and agent should be able to send a chat transcript without having to create a ticket.  This should be core functionality at this point.  It seems odd that one can integrate twitter, facebook, phone, chat and email.. but there's not button to email a chat transcript at the end of the chat.

I have never seen a chat system where this isn't an option. The ticket creation isn't a viable solution, as there's no way to prevent the "a ticket has been created" e-mail from going out to the end user if you have that turned on, which is really only going to serve to confuse them if their issue has already been resolved in the chat.


This should absolutely be a feature. Has anyone found a way to get around the ticket creation notification e-mails without turning them off for everything?

@Smrithi Parameswar: Is there any update on this? It's something we've been asking for literally for years. As others have pointed out, it's pretty much an industry standard. Is this on the table for development?

Hi! On Mac if you are in the chat session, in the menu bar, go to File, Share, Email this page.

You can also ask Amazon to email you a copy of your chat transcript.

This would be a huge benefit. Any chance on reconsidering adding this option?
