Read receipts and bounce warnings

It would be very useful if an item could be marked as 'read' or 'bounced'.  At the moment we have no idea if a message has been read by a customer or if they've actually received the message - we don't get a warning if the email is bounced.  Then if a customer service rep has entered an email incorrectly we'll know to follow up and correct it.

Hi Adriand,

This is something that we personally feel will be useful as well and have already included in our roadmap. We will send out updates as soon as the feature is completed.

Have a great day ahead!

Has this been published yet?

No this has not been added yet Sarah. Hoping Freshdesk introduces a solution to this soon!

Hi everyone,

We will be actively tracking this request on this forum post going forward, so please do follow our updates there.

Hi there.

Being able to see that an email is bounced from the main inbox would be incredibly helpful.

The fact that you have to open an email to see that it was bounced (I'm not receiving emails consistently telling me as such) can lead to a lot of errors and makes the team look unprofessional if we're waiting for a response when the email was never actually sent.

Hey all,

We just wanted to let you know that we have just released our Freshdesk Read Receipts to the general public.  Quickly and easily add email delivery notifications to any Public Note email sent from your agents via Freshdesk to a requester. Our Read Receipt service immediately notifies you when a user views a comment update by adding a Private Comment to your ticket.

For more information, please visit our Freshdesk Read Receipt page or contact us by clicking on the Contact button at the bottom of any page on our website.

Hello everyone!

Have you tried making use of the Marketplace apps listed to track the read receipts for an email? Check out the links to get detailed insights on the applications:

  1. Read Receipts for Freshdesk
  2. Email Tracking for Freshdesk

When there is an email delivery failure for emails sent from Freshdesk, you would get a bounced-back message stating the delivery failure within the ticket details page. You can also trigger email notifications for the same by configuring Ticket update automation (Admin -> Automation -> Ticket Updates). Check out the screenshot to set up a rule accordingly.

Hope this helps. Cheers! :)
