In Freshdesk Classic, when you login, a big part of the dashboard displays the "Recent activities".

In Freshdesk Mint this is completely removed to display automatically. But you can manually click the "Recent activities" link. How can we get "Recent activities" to load automatically when loading the dashboard?

Recent Activities as a full-blown page is definitely a missing thing in the new Mint view.

In fact it is the only reason I still use the classic view for as long as it is possible.

We have just switched to Mint and I second the OP's suggestion

@Thomas@Heidi @Vince When do you actually see the 'Recent Activities' section and why do you want it to be available by default? We'd love to hear when and how you use the data available in this section.

While it's always good to keep an eye on what's happening in the helpdesk, don't you think the widgets that highlight the next best action for you and your team should be given more importance?

Cheers!

Hi Aravind,

I cannot speak for Thomas or Heidi, but we used the Recent activities as a quick way of catching up on any notifications that may have been displayed while we are away from our desks, or are otherwise not watching our PC. It is also useful for seeing who in the team is doing what.

Personally I would rather see the recent activities instead of the "Today's Trends" line chart, as we have a relatively small number of tickets per day so it is not that useful to us.

Thanks @Vince. So, just thinking out loud, if we allow the 'Recent activities' section as a widget that you can add to the Dashboard just like any other widget, it'll be helpful?

Cheers!

@aravind yes it would be very helpful.

Yes a widget, that would be helpful.

I agree with Vince, I find the "recent activities" more helpful than the "Trends"

I think we use it in the same way as Vince does. We don't have to many tickets but it's necessary to have a view on the latest updates and actions that have taken place. Even if it's not your own ticket.

+1 for a widget !

Would definitely be an improvement for us!

It's really important for our team that recent acitity is visible on the dashboard without having to pull out the sidebar - many in my team haven't moved over to Mint yet because this feature is lacking.  Do you have an update on whether you will be adding this feature?  A widget would be fine as long as it allowed it to be permanently displayed.

I would think an at-a-glance view of recent acivity by default is far more useful to most users than the current 'today's trends' info, and would be interested to know whether you did any user research before removing this feature.

Is there any update on this feature now that we are force switched to Mint. This is rather unsatisfactory!

My team would also like to have better visibility to the Recent Activities. We handle quite a few tickets at once and the notifications don't always seem to show what my team needs. If making this a widget is the fastest solution to this issue, I definitely vote for that!

Could we get an update on whether or not this will be implemented as a widget? I gave a lot of feedback about this when Mint was in beta and never heard anything back. Now that we are being forced to switch, many of our team members are holding out because viewing the Recent Activities pane is so cumbersome. It isn't displayed by default, the window only takes up 1/3 of the screen, and clicking anywhere else causes it to disappear.

To try to get this going, I submitted a support ticket referencing this thread.

Niharika Saraff let me know that "has already been passed on as a feature request with the Product Management team. However, as of now, we do not have any updates on this but as soon as we have an update on this we'll keep the thread updated."

Any update on this? Really blocking for us ....

I also started a support ticket about this on March 21st and received the following response:

"We shall forward your request to our product team and keep you posted with the updates.

Please do bear with us."

sounds like this feature we've been using since forever does not conform to the design direction of Freshdesk.

Hello Freshdesk folks,

Just posting to see if there has been any movement on this topic in the last few months?

Hello everyone,

The recent activities can be seen upon one click of the link of the "Recent activities" link on the right side of your dashboard.

While I do agree that it is an extra click when compared with the UI that we had before Mint, unfortunately, we don’t have plans to either change the position of the recent activities tab or create a widget on the dashboard for the same. However, we're taking your feedback on this.
