Meanwhile, if any of you would like to try the app, we can help installing it as a private app in your Freshdesk account. Drop us a note here if you'd like to avail the private app option.

Cheers!

Deleting this stuff is a secondary choice. Top choice should be correctly determining where the new message ends and collapsing the old messages below it.

Totally agree with Mr. Smith!

Are there any updates on this yet? This issue heavily impacts usability.

Why not hide all blockquotes below the content with the "..." Button?

Hi Aravind S,

Regarding to your proposition to test the app (to remove/collapse previous quote), I can make myself available for a try with the private app option.

With regards

@Herman@Desarollo @Mvaneijgen @Toan, The app has been submitted for review and will be available in the marketplace as a public app soon. I'll be sending emails to each one of you to discuss the private app option.

@Mr.Smith, You're spot on as usual. I'll put forward the suggestion to the team and see how best we can handle this.

Cheers!

Just tried an app "Remove Quoted text" - it doesn't work with old or even new tickets.

Hello,

I took a look at the "Remove quoted text" app from the marketplace.

I think actually removing the quoted text from an agent's reply is not that good because previous responses are useful for customers to keep track of the conversation.

Is it possible to keep the quoted text but hide it behind a "..." button in the thread instead?

Indeed, it should be possible to limit the number of unnecessary responses that make reading difficult.

+1 !!

It doesn't work. It is messing up my reply template by replacing the cursor and giving error messages.

Please Freshdesk, make a option inside freshdesk without crazy apps to just remove the quoted text

Sorerly needed. If a customer replies, the quoted text which is useful for the customers, but not so much for the agent since they can already see the other replies in the ticket itself can't be hidden. This basically creates a long list of previous replies when a customer replies again to a ticket.

There should be an option to hide quoted text send from the customer.

Bumping this thread as well because this seems to be a long standing issue for a lot of people.

Out of the top 5 things that annoys me in Freshdesk, this is definitely number #1.

All other e-mail and service desk tools can do this properly, but Freshdesk refuses to put some developer effort in it.

Please get this back under attention. It's so annoying, we started to look at other service desk products...

@Thomas.heymans I would love to know if you find one that does this perfectly. I'll jump ship immediately. The communication from FreshDesk is lack luster at best. I even tried to code my own solution with their API but their documentation isn't complete to get anything working.

I can't believe this is here for about 8 years!!!

---- Reply above this line ----

This is how Zendesk handles the past messages... Everything under this line is hidden on the ticket's page.

It keeps a clean workflow and is very easy to implement, i cant believe you are not trying to do this. Every email client on the market can do this easily, and there's probably some open source JS library that will do this. Come on! Do some research!

We don't want to remove the text, but hide it.

The plugin Quoted Text doesn't help.

@'Aravind Sundararajan': The App "remove quoted text" does the wrong thing. It removes the history for the mail-receiver. Our mail-receivers SHOULD see the whole mail-history.

This solution is like using dynamite to pick apples from an apple-tree.

Especially GMAIL is sending old replies. I am always telling my customers to remove the replies manually, so these do not come up in the ticket. This is very annoying.

SO please do something about that glitch,

Please do something about this! We have 142 votes, it's the most popular feature request.

"Rodrigo Ferreira" is absolutely right, a simple line like this would prevent that. Implement NOW !!!

I find this totally necessary as well. Comparing how zendesk and freshdesk handle this critical feature could make me choose one or another. The first remove the right tabulation for the customer, so the emails doesn't have reading problems in large chains where width starts to be a huge problem.

The plugin "remove quote" is not a solution because, as other users already told, it removes important info for the user. Maybe an easy solution and fast to implement is just edit that application to:

- Remove all quote received in the messages FROM the customer, so agent can hold a clean workspace

- Only include the 3 or 4 past quotes in the replies TO customers. So they still has the most recent info but the chain for them is not having problems of tabulations and width...

What do you think?

Thanks
