Mark,

Thanks for the direction!  I have reached out to https://support.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new, and opened a ticket.

Just an FYI for anyone following this thread. We were one of the earlier people who had the new "fix" applied. Starting yesterday we started receiving Russian spam tickets again despite the fix. I have a ticket in for this now and hopefully they will find out what is happening pretty quickly. If anyone else who has the "fix" in place starts getting these tickets again, I would be interested to know. Thanks!

@MarkMyles: We have the fix in place, later Freshdesk added non-valid email addresses. After the last batch we were told we should not be using the standard Freshdesk email address, but a different one (so not e.g. support@xxxx.freshdesk,com). We have not changed that yet in view of the consequences. So the fix does not solve everything, but we now get very few. And what does come through is caught by the Automation rule mentioned earlier in this thread.

Folks,

We have a feature that can be enabled from our end to counter the spam emails. Once the feature is enabled, you will not receive any tickets from the virtual Freshdesk support email address (support@yourcompany.freshdesk.com). Hence, you need to make sure that you configure only your support email addresses in Freshdesk and not depend on the virtual support email address as it is a catch-all address that converts anything that is directed towards it. Reach out to support@freshdesk.com to enable the feature for your accounts.

Cheers!
