I think it would be useful being able to filter tickets based on customer's custom fields.

We we were planning to use a custom field to associate customers with departments, but currently it's pretty useless because there's no way to use this information in filters or reports.

Not being able to allow customers to search or filter for custom fields is business critical.

This feature should be present. I can not understand why it is not. This should be implemented for text fields or numeric ones as well as for dependant or dropdown (which are usable in seach as I understood). Thanks.

What is the point of custom fields if can't even search for them?

Agreed.  We're new to Freshdesk and I can't begin to fathom why this hasn't already been addressed.

Hello,

Apologies for the delay in getting back on this. Hope you are all well.

On this front, as of now it would only be possile to filter tickets using the dropdown fields under the Ticket fields. Only the contacts could be filtered using the custom customer fields (dropdown). As a workaround, you can group such contacts under a company and you should be able to filter tickets based on the company. But again if you are grouping the contacts based on the actual companies they are assocatied with. This workaround wouldn't be the solution.
