since the link is already included with the description from the merged from tickets.  Does it serve any other special purpose?

Hey @reuven ,

Greetings from Freshworks Community!

If you merge more than two tickets, this secondary note shows you all the ticket IDs which are merged into the Primary ticket:

I hope this helps!

again, it’s not needed except to maybe know how many tickets were merged which never matters.  all the links to the merged from tickets appear in each note.

Yes, I agree with you. It differs case by case. It may not be useful for merging a few tickets. But in some scenarios, people will need to merge bulk number of tickets. It helps to see all those ticket IDs in a single note rather than looking at all the Private notes one by one.

Anyway, Thank you for your feedback, Reuven.

2nd note is completely superfluous.  “Merged from ticket” #  already says it all!

helps for what?  why is that useful?  If ever need one can just view all the customers tickets at once.  This just adds clutter to the ticket.  Besides, 50 tickets aren’t normally merged all at once….  they may be slowly merged together piecemeal over time.

Ah, that’s not what I meant.  You can hover over the customer name, click view tickets, then see all at once easily.  No need for such a mess in the ticket body.
