I think FreshService should separate the hardware assets from the configuration items. Today they are both mixed in the Asset Inventory list but I propose to split them in 2 lists and set up configurable sync rules between the lists for items being both an asset and a CI.
These two are really 2 different ITIL processes and benefits from being managed separately in terms of roles/access, form fields, workflows, reporting etc.
