The /Contacts tab allows you to enter notes and/or background information for a company/contact. So far I can't see this being of much use since you have to enter the contact/company view to see them (which reduces their utility).
This feature request is to have these visible on the Tickets screen (including New Ticket) and display the company/contact information. For example a note like "Don't ever ask if it's plugged in!!" isn't much use unless it's visible on the ticket.
