In order to use single sign on, our client has to activate freshdesk account and choose password. But earlier when he registered on apaczka.pl we already asked him to verify e-mail address and choose password. So we are asking him to do the same job twice, which is very confusing.

Since we are sure that the e-mail address is valid, we dont need to verify it twice. We would like to use single sign on without verification.

That would be great. We really, really need that ASAP.

I would prefer OpenID as a foundation for SSO implementation. It's easy to integrate and if any Freshdesk specific details need to be transferred from IDP->Freshdesk, it's easy with OpenID extensions (attribute exchange).

Hi Radoslaw

I was assessing Freshdesk for our company last week, and saw your post. SSO is a key requirement for us, so I've been doing a bit of testing.

Using the php gist at https://gist.github.com/1662527, Single Sign On works seamlessly - the user is not prompted to validate email address or choose password.

Could it be that you've got an error in your code somewhere?

Regards, Adam

Thanks Adam for the link.
Just like you, SSO is a key requirement for me, and now that it seems possible, I'll go ahead and give Freshdesk a try.
cheers

This should be marked as Implemented.  No longer sends emails.

But, it's got other issues... like change password still shows up in edit profile.  No way to specify a redirect url... but that's a topic for another thread.
