Hi I can see that removal of spam is important (i usually get 1 a day) and although it is easy to mark as spam and block the user it would be good if the item is marked as spam and the user blocked that it is removed from the dashboard instantly.  Some of the items are quite offensive and it is not a good look to have them hanging around.

Totally agree - there should at the very least be some basic and obvious spam filtering on Freshdesk.

There is... you can mark tickets as spam and add block those contacts

The original ticket and deletion still shows up under recent activity, perhaps recent activity could be configurable or at least exclude actions on tickets marked as spam ?

I had 2 spam forum posts this morning, it would be good if there would be a way to just remove the user and all associated entries. To be honest we should not really see the large volume of spam we see but that is for a different ticket I guess.

Hello everyone,

We have made some changes to keep the spam out of the forums. We have introduced a spam filter, and when agents mark a particular topic as Spam it will automatically be moved to the spam folder. Over time, this will also train the spam filter to perform more accurately.

This thread has more on this topic https://support.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/78603

Thanks

But the problem still exists. It's not hard to take care of the spam as it happens, but having it show up in the Dashboard's Recent Activity section can still be awkward. Especially when the spam is of a inappropriate nature. If there was an option to delete/hide objects from the feed it would be appreciated.

Our system does not block any spam.. no mater how may times I mark as spam and block it just keeps coming back.. we get dozens a day.

Hi Donna and all,

I too was experiencing a heavy load with spam. When we set up our MX record entry in exchange to allow freshdesk to send and receive email to our support address, the mail process skips filtering those messages through the spam filters. It started out with 1 or 2 every other day and then grew quickly to 15-20 or more per day.

Initially I reached out to freshdesk support but there isn't currently any anti spam filtering available with freshdesk and I can understand why for many reasons. So I thought about how I could overcome the issue and I'm succeeding.

The method I used was to create a dispatcher rule that looked for occurrences of keywords in the subject or description and once found, marked them as SPAM and deleted the messages. In one weekend, I dropped the number of messages getting through by more that 96%. By tweaking the rule with additonal keywords the rule becomes more and more effective.

My wishlist would be to have the rule read the keywords from a list rather than enter them as separate conditions within the rule and as some of you have noted have an option to keep that message from appearing in the activity feed.

Thanks

We get a few spam a day, but if we send the ticket to the spam folder, why does it still show up in the Recent Activity feed?

Has Anything been done to remove spam from the dashboard view?   We are getting 200 per day and it's clogging up the dashboard for our agents.
