Why can't user logons be authorized?

I have been advised there is no way to prevent a user that has the portal url from signing up and accessing my customer support information.

Surely, there must be a way to either manually create a customer and then manually send them the activation email?

I don't want just anyone accessing our company documents that are meant only for clients who have purchased goods from us.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks

Hi David,

It is definitely possible to create a restricted helpdesk. You can navigate to Admin -> Portals -> Settings section and disable the option for the user to Signup from the portal. Also, you can turn off the automated notifications that get triggered for new users under Admin -> Email notifications -> Requester notifications ( User activation email ) .

This will ensure that no users can gain access to the portal until the agent approves their profile . To send activation email for users/create new users, you can visit the Customers-> Contacts tab .

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
