Hi,


As Wordpress is the most used CMS in the world, it would be nice to have a plugin/contact form where people can post a question directly with the api into Freshdesk.

Hi Matthijs,

there is a Freshdesk plugin (by a third party) for Wordpress that allows SSO - single sign on - but that is all for now.

Hopefully that developer can implement something but yes I totally agree with your view.
Keeping things native within your Wordpress site are great - if you only have one site (one product/brand/customer base).

As I explore Freshdesk more and more, dedicated subdomains and CNAME forwarding make for a better support experience especially if you begin to exploit the solutions Q&A system (maintaining a complex Q&A system in WP can be a chore - doing it in Freshdesk allows you to create Q&A/canned replies on the fly). So eventually you may want your customers to visit the support portal as an option.

Having said that, this has brought to light some very simple oversights or limitations in Freshdesk (which is an otherwise fantastic product) that I think need to be addressed.
Mainly multiple products and SSO - I have two websites but I can only setup one SSO API key and URL pair even with the Garden or Estate plan - bleh...
I'm about to post a feature request that you may find helpful.

you see i cant get my head around this, freshdesk claims to have 15,000 customer worldwide (congrats) yet how come no one thought well a wordpress plugins or instruction FOR wordpress might be a GOOD idea. NOOO ONEEEEE??????? with the amount of people worldwide using wordpress???


a plugin done by freshdesk, not a third party, that plugin mentioned above is crap i tried it, and frankly i don't trust it.


i ended up have the ticket escalated because of this the code just didnt work to the point where they had to call me. a plugin would done the job so much faster and taken 10mns rather than a week, which is still not sorted im talking to the tech tomorrow. Beacause it just does work and at this point even they do not know why?

+1 for this idea. Need better integration for Wordpress, the existing module was poor.
Also SugarCRM could be improved by creating actual cases in SugarCRM for reporting, rather than just an embedded form.

It would be good if there was functionality to integrate forum posts into wordpress, so for example if I have an Announcements Forum, and I want to release the announcement to the wordpress blog I need to write 2 posts. One in Freshdesk, one in wordpress duplicating my workload.


So it would be good if you could link a forum category to a blog category so it would either duplicate the content to wordpress automatically or it would at least add a dummy post with a link to the original freshdesk forum post.

If you have the Freshdesk official SSO plugin you can try embedding your support portal in a page using the pageview plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/pageview/


or


You can use another plugin that sets up a form and then submits an email notification. It doesn't offer customer tracking but that can be done in freshdesk or through email. I'm using wpsc support tickets.

SSO doens't work well when you have multiple products, as it seems to configure ALL products to use the same SSO whereas different products may have different user databases etc. I am sure I made a post about this a while back.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.


As of now, the Wordpress SSO redirects to the main Freshdesk URL.  I understand that this is not greatly desired. 


We will definitely discuss and see if we can improve upon.

Is there a way to make the wordpressplugin sync the useraccounts between the systems?

When a user register at my wordpress site it would be nice to have this user automaticly created in freshdesk. 

I accept bookings with the use of woocommerce bookings, but when i get an email with questions from this costumer i have to login to wordpress to check out his account details.

I want to see this feature too. Requiring my users to create two logins - one for my site and one for Freshdesk - it only causes confuses and endless password resets. Single sign on is a big deal, and WordPress is by far the most used system out there.

Any news on that? Unbelievable that Freshdesk doesn't have a native integration with Wordpress (or a plugin). It's almost 2020!

WordPress SSO seems to be broken for me. The plugin provides a link to the security settings in the portal, but that URL is incorrect. The setup instructions in the plugin seem slightly vague, making me believe I'm using the wrong API key. Also there is an article referenced above, but I get "You are not allowed to access this page!" when I try to access it. Help!

You can use the Freshdesk plugin on WordPress to help your customers without them leaving your page for support. The plugin enables you to embed the new help widget on your WordPress website. You can read more about using this here.
