2. Can I turn off so my customers do not get this incredibly annoying emails every time we set it as closed?

You can customize & Disable all these alerts from Admin -->> Email Notifications section.

I just don't see how you actually disable the email. I can edit it but that's it.
It's super important that these don't go out. Please help!
