We've come across a problem with the email a user receives when they open a ticket before creating a FreshDesk account.  (we've got a form on our website that allows them to quickly submit a ticket)

The user will get an activation email:

A new Support account has been created for you.

Click the url below to activate your account and select a password!

https://xxx.freshdesk.com/register/sadfasfdsaf

If the above URL does not work try copying and pasting it into your browser. If you continue to have problems, please feel free to contact us.

The problem is we have enabled Google/Facebook oAuth and don't want to force the user to "SELECT A PASSWORD" in Freshdesk. They need to be able to utilize one of those services to authenticate into their new account just like they can when they create an account BEFORE submitting their first ticket.

Hi Ed,

By default, FreshDesk creates an account for the user whenever they submit a ticket and sends an email to setup a local password .You can disable the auto-email by navigating to Admin -> Email notifications -> Requester Notifications section and turn off the option User activation mail.

Cheers!

Thanks Aravind,

But I want them to get an email and have an account created within Freshdesk when they submit a ticket via a form on our website. I just don't want their authentication method to be forced to a Freshdesk password.. (they should be able to authenticate via oAuth services like they do when they create an account manually)

It's inconsistent.

Is this something that is expected to be corrected or not in line with your objectives? Our customers don't want to be forced to set up yet another password.

Hi Ed,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You can probably replace the link with a custom text or a link to the google sign in -> https://mycompany.freshdesk.com/google/login .

To remove the Freshdesk Account link on this email, please remove the placeholder {{activation_url}}

Cheers!
