Best way to track software enhancement requests & feature upgrades from customers

I would like to see if it's practical to use Fresh Desk for Application Lifecycle Management. SO we have a single tool (Fresh Desk) rather than multiple software products.

My thoughts are :

1) User request generic service request

2) Asset (software) as allocated to the request

3) If the request is approved the status is changed to pending (all pending requests for this asset would reflect the backlog) otherwise closed

4) Once the work has been done, a new change is created and the request is associated

Any suggestions?
