How do you know when it's time to simplify a workflow?

Hi everyone,

I've been exploring Freshworks recently, and one thing I've been thinking about is how workflows tend to grow over time. A process might start out simple, but after a few updates and new requirements, it can become much more complicated than originally planned.

For those who've been using Freshworks for a while, how do you decide when a workflow has become too complex and needs to be simplified?

I'm interested in hearing how you approach that decision in practice, especially if you've inherited workflows that were built by someone else.

Hi @Anna Wilson

A workflow needs simplifying when troubleshooting takes longer than building , look out for excessive branching and redundant nodes, which indicate multiple single-purpose rules that should be consolidated into one.

Additionally, if you have multiple workflows running on a ticket that perform similar actions, they can be merged into a single workflow, or conditions can be added to consolidate them. If you have a workflow idea with a large set of conditions and actions, you can explore features like Custom Objects (which let you reference information at runtime), making the workflow significantly smaller
