HI,

I have recently started working as the Service Desk Manager for a company who uses FreshService.  There are two assignment groups that have been setup as Restricted Groups.

The issue I am facing is that the person who needs to approve any changes that i want to make to them no longer works for the company.  Is there any way to to gain access to these groups at all.  I know the point of the approval is to stop this, but can someone at FreshWorks do this for me?  If so, what do I need to do and provide by way of authorisation?

Many thanks,

Ray

@ukrayuk there are ways to do this via api calls, but you have to have admin rights to run the api calls specific to your need.  You would also need to know the group ID which you can only get using api calls or by having access to the admin side of freshservice and going into the group itself in which case you really wouldn’t need the api calls.

I think your best scenario here would be to reach out to freshworks. Hopefully it wasn’t your freshservice admin that is no longer with the company, it might be a world of hurt if it was because even freshworks needs the admin to give them access to the tool if I'm not mistaken.

Hello @ukrayuk, as @ITMike mentioned this would require you to reach out to Freshservice support (support@freshservice.com). They should be able to do what you need.

Thank you for your help, but the other person was the admin.  I think there is also someone else but they are out on leave at the moment, so it will need to wait until they are back.
