I have a Service Request form in a Business Workspace that contains a “Description” field where the user describes what they are reporting. For compliance/audit reasons i do not want agents to be able to edit this after the form is submitted. There may be a couple other fields I need to lock after the form is submitted as well. 

I can’t figure out how to block this with either roles or rules.

I tested on my end by doing the following (which prevented me from editing the description field whereas before I had the ability to do so):

Change to appropriate Workspace → Business Rules → Create New → Ticket →

Name your rule
Change applies to → Agents

Change Execute on → Edit Form

Enter condition(s) if applicable. I used where Logged In User.Email is emy email address] to test

Actions → Disable → Description.

Save + Activate


@ericwlester If the field is configured inside a service request form, you can create a business rule choose to disable the Edit service item option as shown below:
