I am trying to force a selection for Source. Users leave the default selected, and all the tickets source is phone. I want to use a business rule to force a selection. In the ticket form I need to make a custom field “Select” the default, but it seems that phone as default cannot be changed.

Can the ticket field "Source" that is defaulted to Phone be changed to another selection?

Admin > Field Manager > Ticket fields
Select Source
Add a custom option at the bottom called “Select”
Use the handle (6 dots) and drag it to the top.
Click Done
Click Save
Check Source says “Select” and try creating a new ticket. You may find you have to move it to the top a couple of times as it seems to not save that sometimes.
