Hello,

I created a custom profile attribute in Okta called “IsManager”. I also created a custom user field in Freshservice with the same name. I would like to map the Okta field to the Freshservice field. I began by using the Profile Editor in Okta to add this attribute to our Freshservice SCIM provisioning mapping. Here is a screenshot of what I’ve attempted without any success. I’m very new to this, so I’d greatly appreciate any guidance!

1. Go to the ‘To App’ section under ‘Provisioning’ in the Okta app.
2. Click on ‘Go to Profile Editor’ and click on the ‘Add Attribute’ button.

3. Specify the data type, display name and variable name as per your preference.
4. The ‘External Name’ can be obtained from the Freshservice app you installed. You can reach this page on Freshservice by opening Admin > Apps > Okta Provisioning (SCIM) > Settings. Your custom fields are displayed here.
5. Copy the custom field from here. In the ‘External Name’ field on Okta, prefix ‘custom_fields.’ to the field name you just copied. If the custom field you just copied is ‘location’, the External Name will be ‘custom_fields.location’
6. The ‘External Namespace’ value will be ‘urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:core:2.0:User’

7. Click on Save.
8. Click on the ‘Map Attributes’ button to map the attribute to the right Okta custom attribute.

It appears that the field value is still not being mapped into Freshservice, even after using the correct configuration. If that is the case, I recommend reaching out to the Effy team, who manage SCIM provisioning, for further assistance with mapping this custom field.
