The Service Catalog interface really needs a major overhaul. It seems to randomly add Service Catalog Categories to the request portal. I tried labeling the Categories as “IT-...” and “HR-...” and such hoping it would place them alphabetically, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to order them in a way that makes much sense to the Agent or the Requester. This has become a major roadblock with our company rolling out some new Workspaces, so I’m hoping there is something simple I have overlooked. Thanks!

Hi.

Or there’s something odd in your instance or you may have someone working on the Service Catalog simultaneously creating such categories. They are not created randomly.

And they indeed can be sorted.

There’s a reorder button:

When clicked you can drag and drop and reorder the categories to suit your needs:

And when a category is empty or at least does not contain any Published item, it won’t be shown on the Catalog.

Maybe I mis-understood your issue. If this was the case, would you mind elaborating and even better add some screenshots for easier understanding?

Regards,

Freshservice also just released that they are rolling out a reorder option for the service items which may help.
