I am unable to activate the integration between Slack and Freshservice. 

 

Please assist.

Thanks for reaching out. So, essentially I need to navigate to the apps section under settings to begin the integration but when I get there, there’s nothing. See Screenshot below:

Could it be because I do not have a paid subscription on freshservice? I am currently on the free.

Yes I believe it is due to the version of freshservice you are using. I believe you need at least a starter subscription to be able to see the “Marketplace” apps.
