This is something that many of us NEED. Yes, ideally our customers would all be techie and happy to use online help, but it turns out that they are not and want to print out the information to hold in their hands. Yes it gets out of date. Yes we would prefer they didn't. But these are our customers for whom we are providing documentation to use our products, so we want them to be able to access the information however they like without a lot of annoying cutting and pasting.

Give any logged in user with access a way to select a set of articles (only those that he's allowed access to) -- by Category is fine, as is by Folder, or even individually. The point is that I need to select more than one.

Then create a Word document or pdf that appends one after the other. Word is fine -- it takes care of formatting, printing, and pdf so you don't have to implement those.

Thanks!

We would need this as well.
The PDF Print export does not do it's job well: It doesn't scale images properly, it includes search boxed and the authors name.

Hello

Is there a way to export the entire knowledge base as a PDF or csv file?

This would be useful if wanting to move it out of Freshdesk or mirror it in other systems?

We ship our products to our customers who do not have public internet access. There is no way we can print from the XML export. Selectively Printing a single PDF of our Solutions is the best way we can share our documentation with our customers.

Branding, as someone pointed out, is also important for our business. The current' "print" button is useless because there is a better and faster way to do print the current page using CTRL+P (on PC) & CMD+P (on Mac).

It is interesting that the 6-year old request (with 34 likes) is still pending on Freshdesk's Product Management team. All the solutions provided thus-far are not sufficient.

Freshdesk PM Team: Is there anything we (customers/users) can do to help you prioritize this feature request over some other things you may have on your plate?

I totally agree with what Benny has mentioned on this thread of having a way to cleanly export an article to PDF with all the branding. And I think other people have mentioned it on this thread that there needs to be an option to be able to download the whole helpcentre into PDFs for reference purposes.

We are a BPO working on behalf of a number of different clients that aren’t the most digital-minded people and we need the ability to send them a readable document with all the articles for them to be able to print off and take into meetings if they have to.

I’ve looked through a number of threads about a number of different topics and I keep seeing the same trend – a relatively simple requirement that’s been raised a number of years ago with little communication about development or any real attempt to understand the requirement fully that seems to be just left in limbo which clients of Freshdesk need more immediately! Sort it out Freshdesk!!

We would like to use this feature for simply emailing our customers knowledge articles without having them in our system or simply because they're offline mostly.

I don't understand why this feature is not implemented yet since a technical implementation of this feature is quite easy..

Yes, definitely need this.  Being able to "print to PDF" helps a little, but it's not a very satisfying workaround.  The resulting PDF looks like a screen print from a browser, not at all a professional document we'll want to distribute.  A few simple "Export to PDF" and "Export to Word doc" buttons would be really helpful.

The use case, as others have mentioned, is very straightforward:  We often need to be able to send KB articles to customers or prospects who are not registered as users of our support portal.  Additionally, since our products are frequently deployed in secure locations without internet access, we need to be able to send individual articles with instructions to our customers, in a format that can be viewed offline and shared with others.

There should be some way for us to send a KB article to someone who doesn't have a Support Portal account at all.

@freshdesk - why is this “archived” if so many people want this as a feature?

we built a Freshworks app that allows agents to export Freshdesk/Freshworks solutions folders as PDFs that can be sent to customers and are currently collecting customer feedback to adjust the scope of it.

Feel free to give it a try, we’re eager to hear your feedback:

If you have any questions or feedback don’t hesitate to reach out to me at patrick (at) canary-apps (dot) com or via private message here in the community

You have to pay for it, that’s a bummer. Thanks though...

We’d like this feature as well. Please unarchive this thread.

Also desperately need the ability to export multiple solution articles at once. Makes no sense that the functionality isn’t available, at the agent or customer level… can’t believe this has been a request for over 11 years!

Hi everyone! I’ve open the idea for voting - please add in your votes! We need over 15 for them to be passed on to the Product team!

A solution for this would be so helpful.  Copy and paste is a terrible way to go.
