The review date option for solution articles is a nice feature, however it lacks some logic:

If the review date occurs 2 things happen currently

  • An email gets send to the author with the reminder to review the article
  • the article itself gets set to Draft and disappears for all users

This makes no sense in our opinion as the last published version should stay visible even during the article is in review currently.

Please allow to set the option to NOT set the solution article to Draft after the review date has happened.

Hi.

I totally support this.

The article might be outdated, but should remain visible / published. Maybe adding a banner like: OUTDATED or REVIEW NEEDED, but not switching it back to draft immediately as End Users can’t refer to those articles during this.

Not Taken : will this be implemented somehow differently? for example having a proper versioning of articles?

Hello @alyssia.correa , did the product team indicate a reason why they are not considering this idea?

Looks like they are combining some duplicates into this one: https://community.freshworks.com/ideas/version-history-for-solutions-25937

@ggallaway I’m not following on how you’re interpreting the approval of one idea about Solutions, to include this request and the below. Could you help elaborate how you’ve come to this conclusion? Is there another site that contains more details?

Hey guys : @msconfig87 @zachary.king - I have already checked with the Product team to give us a work-around (if any) or to check for any further information - @AnushaKovvuri - please could you share any more details with our members? Thanks so much

Are these the same? I’m not entirely sure, we could potentially merge them. Will double check with our PM team.

Not exactly same. But if a version History would get implemented, that would be a tremendous step.
If then the article which is due on the review date will STAY published in the last version and it created a draft article automatically to be reviewed, then this would be perfect I think

This is a must - I’m moved my public wiki to FreshService. If information isn’t available to my customers because the article moves from Published → Draft, that’s a huge problem. I may have to move all of my data back out of FreshService if this isn’t addressed.

Not only should we have an option to leave it published, but why in the world does this send an email instead of, i dunno, raise a ticket??? Don’t you guys have ticketing systems?

also if you consider improving this, please make the notification of an approaching review date customizable for 1 week / 1 month before the date and not on the date
