Markdown Editor

I’d like to bump this. I would love it if there was markdown support that could be enabled for specific users. I have some coworkers that don’t know what markdown is so it would be nice to be able to enable it just for myself or for whoever wants to use it.

This would make my life much easier when using multiple other tools that have native markdown.

At our organisation we would love to have markdown editor as as the main editor for ticket replies and solution articles.

At our company having a user setting to use Markdown at ticket replies and notes would also help a lot.

Agree with all above, the current code block function is very limited and we’ve had several clients + internal stakeholders request an integration with markdown.

will it be implemented or not?

Four years have passed, and this issue remains unresolved! While other tools already offer native markdown support, it is still missing in FreshDesk. Formatting solutions have become a painful task, and the results are frustratingly unattractive. I am seriously considering migrating our entire knowledge base to another platform.

Please prioritize adding markdown support instead of introducing another AI feature!

How is it possible that Markdown still isn’t supported? This is the most common documentation formatting standard in the IT field.

Microsoft Notepad and Word now support Markdown.

Teams uses Markdown.

GitHub uses Markdown.

Google Docs supports Markdown.

This is the industry standard for simple text formatting.

When is FreshWorks/FreshService going to support this industry standard natively?

From what I can tell, FreshService is using TinyMCE (third party text editor) and it does have a plugin to support pasting Markdown. Similarly to these ideas, it seems like Freshworks has decided not to turn on functionality for us:
