I spent 15 mins with Support today trying to create Business Hours for New Years day. Since it is in 2025 it’s not possible.
Ludicrous!

What problem are you having?  I’ve got 1st Jan setup fine.

Very interesting

I cannot get the calendar to go past Dec 30th. I even had Support check and they confirmed it wasn't functionality to create anything in 2025

Go backwards on the calendar - not forwards.
The holidays aren’t limited to each year, so if you setup 1st Jan, it’ll apply to every 1st Jan, unless you remove it.

It would be better if they added the year to the holiday entry screen, so I can setup the next couple of years worth of public holidays, but what I do is setup all of the dates as one of my new year tasks

Hope that helps!
Rob

Hi Rob,

I guess every software has its illogical idiosyncrasies! 😄

Thanks for that suggestion. I'll try that out.

Cheers

Hi @IanD,

Greetings from Freshworks Commumity!

Holidays/calendars added to business hours in Freshdesk are automatically carried forward to the next year without requiring manual intervention, unless a specific holiday needs to be added.

Hope this clarifies.

Cheers,
Sneha.

Hi @Sneha Kandasamy

I think the point that Fresh miss (and I have raised this before) is that in many parts of the world, the dates of public holidays change each year (for example - UK bank holidays - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)) , so the ability to add the future year bank holidays in advance would be a huge benefit

Hi @RobCrossHM

This is a valid requirement. This can be taken as feedback for our future roadmap.

You could voice out this in - https://community.freshworks.com/ideas. We would consider the ideas posted based on the votes that come up for our future route plan.

I’ve added an idea, but many others have too, I don’t think it’s the kinda thing that will get many votes, because the workaround is okay, but really think Fresh should consider it.

That’s a smart feature — having the ability to create holiday business hours past New Year’s Eve helps businesses stay organized and customer-friendly! With ChatGPT,https://chatgpt-modapk.com/ you can even automate messages or generate professional holiday announcements to keep your audience informed and engaged seamlessly.

It would be better if they added the year to the holiday entry screen, so I can setup the next couple of years’ worth of public holidays, but while I manage that, I sometimes spend time on an online Quran academy, and what I do is setup all of the dates as one of my New Year tasks.

Hope that helps!

It sounds like the system doesn’t support setting business hours that far in advance. You may need to wait until closer to 2025 or use a workaround, like a calendar integration, to handle New Year’s Day hours.
