I am completely new to creating or customising the portals , can anyone help.

I have never written HTML / CSS in my life.

I want to remove the welcome and sign up section on the headers, can this be done?

 

There are different levels of control you can have depending on what version of Freshdesk you have. There is some helpful info here https://support.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/71599.  

They say anyone can do it, I am working now on understanding the same.  They have some preset themes under the FreshThemes gallery, that might be a starting spot for you.
