Hi, 

we are new to freshservice and have a use case where I don´t know how to realize in Freshservice. We are service providers for a few companies that get invoices from us at the end of the month. This invoice looks like this for example: 

Customer A: 

    PC “PC01” 4$
    O365 15$
    Monitor 13$ 
    …. 

Factory A: 

    PC “PC02” 4$
    PC “PC03” 4$
    PC “PC03” 4$
    Softwarelicense for Software A 9$
    Softwarelicense for Software A 9$
    Softwarelicense for Software A 9$

 

We looked at this in freshservice - “Customer A” and “Factory A” are our customers. We assigned them the PCs as hardware assets that has price X. Our problem starts at the software. We need to be able to assign a software more than once to a customer. Software with type “SaaS” in Freshservice is only able to be assigned once per contact. 

Any suggestions for us? How do you issue invoices to your customers?

There are some updates coming to contracts soon, which may help. 

 

If it was me, I would have a Software and Contract PER client it may seem messy ,but that will give you the best result within Fresh right now.

thanks for your response. I already looked at contracts but I would need the use of lookup field in it. Or at the contact itself, both would help. Do you know which updates come to contracts and when?

It sounds like you're looking for a way to assign software licenses multiple times to different assets or customers. I understand the challenge with Freshservice's current limitation for "SaaS" software assignments.

One workaround could be to treat each software license as a separate software asset in Freshservice. This way, you can assign multiple instances of the same software license to different PCs or contacts. You could also use custom fields to track the number of licenses or instances assigned to each customer, which could help streamline invoicing.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend checking out the integration options for Freshservice. Some third-party tools might offer more flexibility in managing software licenses and multiple assignments.

thanks for thinking about my problem. 

We already thought about creating each software a few times but we have factories, were we have about 30 Office licenses for example. That would be a mess. 
I also tried to create custom fields in the contact but the cost of a software must be assigned to a software, otherwise there would be a lot of mistakes when the agent has to assign the price itself. 

I also found no apps that can do this.
