Exporting Solutions Articles

We have created and published several solutions articles in our environment. We followed the instructions to export the XML for the Solutions folder, and when we get it, it’s empty. How can we export our solutions articles into a format that we can save and read outside of FreshService?

Hey ​@Melissa S , you can try using an API call to get all solution articles from a folder (content will be in JSON) format, then you can use some free JSON to CSV online converter tool to format it.

For example, the API endpoint should be:

https://{{yourportalURL}}/api/v2/solutions/articles?folder_id={id} . Run a “GET” call. You will then get all the articles under the required folder in JSON format. To get the folder ID, go to Solutions> Knowledge base> Select the required workspace> Select the required folder and get the ID. The link will be in this format, and you can copy the folder ID:

yourfsportal/a/solutions/categories/{{category ID}}/folders/{{folder ID}}?language=en

This task needs a lot of manual intervention. If the export from Account doesn’t work, you can try this solution. You can also contact fs support team to check why you are getting blank values in the XML file.
