Hi all,I understand there has been a delay (a lot of) in addressing this (and a couple of other) issue in the forums. In fact, there is a thread about this in the Freshservice User Groups on LinkedIn. Before I being explaining, please accept my apologies for this delay in replying to this thread.We have been creating some new features (Bomgar integration, new self service portal, Box integration, improvements in automation, service catalog, mobile apps etc) in the last year - our engineers and product guys really had to work hard to make sure that we are good enough to compete with the older (and more established) service desk solutions out there. And trust me, we are almost there. We are seeing enterprises shift to Freshservice from the established players like ServiceNow, Cherwell, HP etc.We are scaling up real fast - we launched in Jan 2014 and currently 4500+ enterprises are using Freshservice for ITSM. We are scaling up engineering and support to meet the exponential demand that w

New implementation questions

I would recommend using Freshservice for internal help desk purposes. Freshdesk is designed keeping mind customers of an organization while Freshservice is designed for internal purposes. To answer your questions based on a Freshservice perspective... Once users email the help desk, a ticket is created and an account is created. This is effective because they can keep track of the tickets they have submitted and can get notifications.  You can restrict users from a user group from placing requests for service items in Freshservice. However, you can restrict ticket creation itself based on a group. I hope this helps.

2 Aug 2014 Discovery probe can now identify location of an asset. Assets API is enabled to create, read, edit and delete the assets. You can view all the asset ci_type and its corresponding ci_type fields which will be useful for creating and editing the assets.

However, here is a workaround till then.Go to Admin --> Helpdesk Rebranding --> Customize Portal --> Layouts and Pages --> Portal PagesClick on 'New Ticket' in the left sidebar to edit the new ticket page and add the following code as shown in the screenshot below.  <div> <a href="#" class="mobile-icon-nav-contact contact-info ellipsis"> <span>{{ portal.contact_info }}</span></a> </div>  Hope this helps.
