Hi everyone,

I am exploring whether Freshdesk could be used to organize FAQs, contact enquiries and support content for an independent WordPress information portal covering skills development opportunities for women in Punjab.

The website already contains application guides, eligibility information, training details and frequently asked questions. I would like to understand the best way to connect this content with Freshdesk without duplicating everything or negatively affecting the existing website’s SEO.

Would you recommend using Freshdesk Knowledge Base categories, embedding selected articles in WordPress, or keeping the knowledge base on a separate support subdomain? I would also appreciate advice about multilingual content, analytics tracking and maintaining consistent branding.

Thanks in advance for any practical recommendations or examples.

Hi @David Jimmt

Greetings from Freshworks Community. I hope you are doing well!

We’re happy to note that you’re exploring Freshdesk. :)

I see you are looking to leverage the Freshdesk Knowledge Base alongside your already published articles on WordPress, without the hassle of duplicating them on Freshdesk. Here are some thoughts on this on this, given you already have strong, structured content on the WordPress portal and you’re concerned about SEO and duplication:

  1. Short-Form Help Articles: You could consider keeping the main articles on WordPress and using Freshdesk Kbase for more concise information, such as FAQs or How-Tos. Launch Freshdesk on a support subdomain specifically for inquiry routing, ticket management, and transactional help content.
  2. Link WordPress articles to Freshdesk articles: Write concise, workflow-focused FAQs in Freshdesk (e.g., "How do I track my request?") that link back to the primary pages on WordPress for full details. We can embed or link to a small set of “top FAQs” from your WordPress site on the most-visited Freshdesk portal pages (but avoid publishing identical long-form pages in both places).

  3. Help Widget Integration: Embed Freshdesk’s pop-up Help Widget directly into WordPress so visitors can submit contact forms or search for help without exiting your main domain.

  4. Multilingual Alignment: Freshdesk natively supports Multi-Language Support for knowledge base articles. This would help mirror your WordPress site structure across English and other languages. I’m afraid we don’t support Punjabi as of today, but we do support Hindi.

  5. Visual Continuity: We can apply matching visual tokens (brand colours, header logos, typography) in Freshdesk’s portal theme editor, so the support interface mirrors your WordPress site seamlessly via Portal Customisation. This is available from the Pro plan onwards.

  6. Analytics: Freshdesk articles can be tracked for metrics like ‘The most viewed articles’, ‘The most liked/disliked articles’ via our default knowledge base analytics report. This is available from the Pro plan onwards as well.

Do let us know if this has helped!
