Hi,

i am trying to get a custom filed added to Change ticket properties, that allows entering of formatted text. (e.g. linebreaks, formatting, tables, etc.) similar to what the change description field allows.
but all i get is either Single line text, paragrah text (longer, but still no formatting) or content (not to be used for modifications).
any idea on how to do this?

thanks, Günther

Hey @Stague71

If you scroll down the the very bottom of the Field manager under change, then you can add a new “Planning” field which will let you have Rich text

Hi Roxwell,

great hint! it is so obviously placed and still so well hidden that i missed it.

thanks, Günther

Hi Günther,

Adding a custom field to Change ticket properties with formatting options similar to the change description field can be tricky, as many systems limit custom fields to plain text or simple formats. However, here are a few suggestions to try:

  1. Use a Rich Text Custom Field (If Available): Check your system’s documentation or settings to see if it supports rich text custom fields. Some platforms allow enabling advanced field types through admin settings or extensions.

  2. Embed a WYSIWYG Editor: If your system allows custom integrations or plugins, consider embedding a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This provides rich text capabilities, including tables and formatting.

  3. Repurpose the Content Field: While it’s labeled as “not for modifications,” you could explore workarounds or configurations that allow you to leverage this field for your needs, depending on your permissions.

  4. Request a Feature: If none of the above options work, consider submitting a feature request to your system's support team for a custom solution or enhanced functionality.
