Using Freshdesk

We need to do a redesign of the portal, we have bought 2 themes but we are lacking the necesary skills to make it work properly. We have a clear idea in out mind, we have the CSS file already done according to the brand guidelines but we need to make it work.

Hello!I've been searching the community but I haven't found much information about it or users with the same thing happening to them.Our customers usually respond to a ticket with confirmation of whether or not their reported problems has been solved and, in addition, they ask about other matters. As you can imagine, we manage new questions in different tickets, so we must split the ticket based on the last response from the customer.The problem is that when splitting the ticket, the customer's last response is copied to the new ticket and removed from the original. In this situation, we must copy the customer's response from the new ticket and add it as a note in the original ticket, causing a significant loss of time every week. It is important to keep the response in the original ticket because it usually contains relevant information for us.My question is, is there any way to fix this automatically? Hello, I’m new to rest api calls, when I run this command I’m not getting any output:curl -u myapikeyhere:X -H "Content-Type: application/json" -X GET -O 'https://mydomainhere.freshdesk.com/api/v2/tickets' Substituting in the API key from my account and my company’s domain, the result is coming back as blank. If I add a -v onto the command I can see that it’s returning with a Status of 200 OK, which is what I’m expecting to see. However, I’m also expecting to see a list of tickets or some other information like is suggested in the API Reference document. For reference, I’m running this command in a BASH terminal, I don’t think this should make a difference but I thought it’s worth noting. Any help is appreciated.

We had an issue that a Contact was flagged as SPAM. It took way to long to go through 2800 records looking for the contacts emails and marking them as not spam. It would have been much easier to be able to sort my contact so it would have grouped all of them together and reduced missing some of them.  

Is it possible to add dropdown choices in freshdesk ticketing dropdown fields via api?

I have it set that the subject is not required for the agent or the customer, yet the system insiststs that the agent enter a subject.  How do I make this stop?

In the Canned Responses, it would be great to have a field where we can insert a description or instructions to our team about when and how to use the response like the picture below. This part is not sent to customers, but only viewable by support staff to get additional context/direction on a specific canned response 

Hi,I'm trying to setup an automation rule so that when a customer replies to a closed ticket that’s got a specific tag (the ticket gets the specific tag when 7 days have passed since it was closed), that instead of reopening that same ticket, the last public comment is used to create a new ticket via a webhook.However, I have a automation rule that ranks third in the ticket updates order stating that “When an action performed by Requester When Reply is Sent If Status is not Open AND If Status is not Need to check Set Status as Open” (we would like to keep this rule for tickets that have been closed prior to the 7 days mark).I don’t have coding background but nevertheless I took the challenge head on. I am not sure why the thrid rule gets executed first when the first rule is the webhook one as per my screengrab.  

Dear all,we have various portals within Freshdesk, which we use for internal users i.e. as knowledge base. In order to have a smooth login process, i’d like to add SSO for those portals. The admin configuration has been done and works. If i go the the agents login i see SSO as a button and this works fine.Now i want to have the same button for my portals, but don’t find any code, which can be used. I’m not a developer, but if i could get the code do create the button and then call the SSO, i believe i can get around with it.Anyone, who could help me here and send me the necessary code?Thanks a lot in advance,Udo

We are using the Sprout version of FD, upgrading later this year. The Dashboard shows 1 open ticket and 1 unassigned ticket. When I click on either one I am taken to a page that says “No tickets here.” Where are the missing open and unassigned tickets. We want to close them out.

I have an automation that adds an ‘inbox’ tag to all messages and notes where I am the owner of the ticket or when a ticket is assigned to me. I would like to add another automation to remove that tag when I respond or add a note to the ticket. I am doing this to simulate an email inbox since the only activity view (that I know of) is the dropdown at the top of the screen that is incomplete and not very user friendly. 

I noticed a couple of customers would write in using agents' first and last names.We tested by sending and reply to a couple of emails to and from ourselves but didn't see the agent name. We think they may be seeing it when logged into the helpdesk. We're not able to change agent name in Freshdesk, but agents changed their names in their freshworks profiles? Will this resolve the issue? The changes aren't reflecting in the "agents" section of fresh desk.

We recently implemented the default out of office feature in FD, we have hit a few hurdles and I wanted to check if the community have similar issues or suggestions:It appears as though only an administrator can perform an out of office for another agent and this is done by impersonating them. Not ideal  I can’t seem to find any dashboard or report that provides a list of agents currently OOO. We have to manually assign people or a group that must receive the notification when a customer replies to an agent that is OOO. We would prefer a method to assign this to a specific role e.g. team lead, you can obviously do this manually but people change roles and then you have to remember to add them or change them.

So I just realized that I have load of tickets in the Freshdesk system, and I didn’t get notification about any of them…Under settings → Email Notifications all Agent Notifications are checked and enabled.Any idea what’s happening? It’s not in the junkmail, I receive notification about tickets sent via e-mail… But not widget...

Hello to the community, Our company have concerns that seems to be occuring in multiple account. After a look to the support, I was not able to find a precise answer to this problem. By advance, thank you for the help you could provide. First problem :Sometimes, when our customers respond to a mail sent from one of our freshdesk mailbox (contact@ or order@ for instance), using the “forwarding” or “answering” option, some of them never reach freshdesk. It means that we have an initial ticket with the original mail but nothing more (no new ticket or new message on the original ticket ID). It does not seem to follow any pattern, because we still receive some response. Is it possibly associated to the Gmail account parameters that prevent some to land in freshdesk feed in some cases ? That is a bit frustrating to answer to upset clients without being able to catch their answer in a first place. Second problem : Also, we have another concern where forwarded email do not make it either (exam

Has anyone had success adding the (4) CNAME records to Network Solutions so that the Freshdesk DKIM Verification check succeeds?  I am unable to verify despite using both the NS Account Manager New or Classic interface.  Below is an example for one record and where I am placing the values. Type = CNAMERefers to = Other Host [tritacSG.com]Host Name = algsq._domainkey.tritacSG.comAlias to = wl638460s1.domainkey.freshemail.ioTTL = 2 Hours Should I be making different selections or value placements to build the CNAME records correctly to pass verification? Thanks!  

I am worked in Portal customization.  i saved the page and publish . but go to the customer portal is not working. Always The customer portal shows default current theme. 

Hi Team,Everytime I login to the portal, or reload the page, I am greeted with the attached banner. The banner is regarding a change in permission of my user by another admin user. I have received this notification 20+ times in a day and is starting to get irritating.

Hello I would like to ask when someone is added as watcher he/she does not receive a notification from the system. Is there a way to add maybe a rule or other solution to be notified the assigned watcher (not with email)? Thank you

To have multiple ticket forms available for agent portal as well

This is an intermittent error linked to trying to create a new outbound email - I can’t replicate it but I get enough occasional reports from agents that I I do believe it is a legitimate issue My first guess is that these would be for contacts that do not yet exist in the contact DB and the call to create the record at time of email send is failing but as this is not reproducible I can’t really get FD support to look at failure logs or anything. Anyone else encountering this  Unlike the post here the DKIM and SPF for this outbound email account are fully verified and this only happens occasionally (maybe 1 email in 10,000) so I don’t think it is a system setting issue

My parent organisation’s IT team has updated its CNAME records as instructed, but my DKIM settings still cannot be verified. The email address we’d like to use is a subdomain of the parent organisation, for example:organisation = org.ac.ukdepartment = dept.org.ac.ukIf that’s the cause of the problem, could you please suggest a workaround or alternative advice?Thanks a lot, Alastair
