Using Freshdesk

We'd like to create a dropdown input on a "Custom Installation Page" populated by "ticket type" options. This is a system field, but the options for it can be customized by admins. So rather than assuming they're the default "ticket type" options, we'd like to look up the values using the REST API and populate it with those. That way the options are always up-to-date and accurate. The problem we're running into is there doesn't appear to be an easy way to make this API call. When using `client.request`, it doesn't matter whether you're calling Freshdesk or some random third-party domain. You still need the complete URL and a way to authenticate with it. And it seems the only way to get that is by making the user manually enter it. I guess I'm having a hard time believing that if you want to make a call from a Freshdesk app to the Freshdesk API, using the Freshdesk client library, it requires a human to manually enter a bunch of info that the system should already have. What am I missin

I want to leverage the Knowledgebase for FD in my application.  I was thinking about having a link on my webpage that pointed to the KB article for the page in question.My challenge is I don't want to have the KB articles public, so I need to have users login.Is it possible to embed the login credentials (say the are generic) to the URL so when the user clicks on it, they are directed and logged in?Any clarification on options or assistance would be most appreciated.  Thanks!

We are currently setting up Freshdesk for our support channels, and we're also looking to use Ops Genie utilising webhooks to establish communications.The way I've configured our front end, is the customer chooses the Type of incident initially, which will then present them with varying different sections (with no field outside of Requester and Severity being mandatory across all of the sections).As I have had to use Sections to create this setup, we are unable to include the default Subject and Description fields in each section, and for some incidents we don't need them populated, so I am not making them mandatory fields (the default versions).The problem is, when we send the webhook to Ops Genie, every webhook has a blank Description and Subject, so I'm looking for a way to populate those fields.Does anyone know if it's possible to do this? We have implemented simple SSO for FreshDesk in our application which is backed by Asp.Net (MVC). The SSO does work for users to log into our portal. However when the 'feedback widget' is launched (popup) the following error shows up in the browser console:Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://brewninja.net/FreshDeskAuth?host_url=brewninja.freshdesk.com' (redirected from 'https://brewninja.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/commons/user_companies') from origin 'https://brewninja.freshdesk.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: Redirect is not allowed for a preflight request.Is there anything we can do on our end to avoid the redirect, so the CORS request passes? We do allow CORS requests on our application. So it seems the Redirect is the issue, and the redirect is coming from FreshDesk, so not sure how to fix this.

HiWhen a certain type of email gets sent to our DKIM address and automatically generates a ticket, it loses it's formatting. The particular emails are emails I have generated through Microsoft Flow. The formatting of the emails appear fine when you view them in Outlook but when they appear in Freshdesk as a ticket, all of the line breaks are gone.I do wonder if it is something to do with HTML as that's what the email form is configured in within Flow.Help please! :)

If you search for a contact on the Contacts page, it will search in custom fields.However, if you search for a contact on the New Ticket page, it will not return any results.This seems like a clear bug in the system.We use custom fields to identify company branches for one of our customers. Right now, if we need to create a ticket and don't know the name of the specific contact for that branch, we have to:Go to the contacts page. 1 page load.Search for the contact by Branch ID. 1 page load.Click the new ticket button on the contact page. 1 page load.If we could search directly from the new ticket page, we would only have to wait for the new ticket page to load, rather than having to jump through several pages.

Hello everybody,we have disabled the New Ticket Created notification for requesters, i.e. our customers do not automatically get a copy of their ticket via e-mail. However, after completing the "create new ticket form" and thus creating a new ticket, customers see a green banner, telling them that a copy of their created ticket has been sent to their e-mail - which of course contradicts the configuration "New Ticket Created notification" disabled.Is it possible to hide this banner with this notification.Screens are attached (but system language is German)Thanks in advance,Magdalena

We are trying to integrate Freshdesk with JIRA. We have followed all the steps required to finish the integration. But when I select submit, it returns the following error jira reports the following error : Login failed. I have verified that the JIRA account is an admin account and the credentials are correct. I was able to login to JIRA using the credentials given.

Hi Support, We are planning to build a new client portal using the Freshdesk APIs with a view of replicating all of the features of your existing portal plus a new UI and additional features. We wanted to get your advice on the best approach to get the number of pages. We want to have paginator on our portal. On one page we display 10 tickets. But how can we get the total number of such pages? Is there any way how you can add this data to the API or you could suggest some better approach. Thanks!

Hi,I'm making a custom serverless app for Freshdesk. It's supposed to process new ticket using "onTicketCreate" event, and then do certain things based on the value of a certain custom field. However, the app refused to work correctly, and when I looked at the logs, I noticed two issues:1) Every custom field has a weird appendix - six numbers preceded by an underscore, so, for example, the field "cf_company" becomes "cf_company_176796";2) The only custom fields that have values are dropdowns, checkboxes and other fields with predetermined values, but the regular text fields are empty, despite me definitely putting data in them when creating a ticket.This is the ticket when viewed from Freshdesk's interface (both "VIN" and "Car glass position" fields clearly have values assigned to them)And here's logged data that I got from "onTicketCreate" event ("Car glass" field has the correct value, but "VIN" field appears empty)Am I doing something wrong, or is this a problem on your side?

So Freshdesk has gone from being a company with a great product and support to what seems like a company trying to do too many things at once and doing none of them amazingly.I have started keeping track of the things that piss me off the most all of which I have spoken to FD agents about in the last 12-24 months.- The shortcut to send a ticket (Command + Enter for me) adds a ‘paragraph’/works as a normal enter when closing a ticket so can add weird spacing if you’re not precise where you leave the cursor- The old integrated chat was awesome. Freshchat is shit. I have to set it to give me email notifications because my email client lets me know someone is there better than FD or FC does. As above I have spent time trying to work through this with a FD agent who was helpful, but not to the point that there is no issue for something that should be basic. Just me?- The cursor jumps to the start of the ticket after you have begun typing. This also can cause words to be selected that can’t

We are trying to find all tickets that have been forwarded to a third party email address and then closed. If I search for the email address in question it brings up the contact and that is all.Is there an easy way to do this?

If I'm forwarding a ticket to a third party and this this party replies, a private note is added to the ticket. I seem to have no way to know if this happens. I want to create a rule that sets the priority of such tickets as Urgent. When I try this, there's no way to say "..and the events are NOT performed by", so I can't make a rule modifies these tickets, because it would also modify the tickets I personally adds a private note to. Any suggestion here?

I saw there was a topic already in regards to the cursor deleting the space before words when deleting caracters, this is very annoying.We have another issue where the cursor randomly jumps into other ticket fields, also quite frustrating. This has been going on for a long time, is this being looked at? Its just seems to be an issue with your editor.
