It would be great if we could set the "Can see all tickets from this company" option to be checked by default for new contacts.  As it stands, we have to manually go in and check this for each contact added.

Agree but this should still be optional

I agree, that would greatly simplify ticket access management. Also, a tangential solution would be if one could set the option on the Company page, such as "Allow all employees to see all tickets from this company". Then the setting on the Contact page could be used to override the Company setting if desired, for exact control.

It's really annoying that this setting is off when adding a Contact and there is no way to set the default.

I raised this with Anna 3 months ago and she said it'd be added to your development ideas - any progress?

Hi Guys

For now, we dont plan to bring this option as DEFAULT, in the New Contacts created option, but we have addressed this in our CSV import section. In the CSV file, you can create a column called Manager and set the values YES or NO in the List. When importing, match the appropriate columns and this user will be set with this role

thanks

A note on the API example above , if you only specify the manager

-d "<user><client_manager>true</client_manager></user>"

then you will lose the company that is assigned to the contact.

You need to include the customer-id too , something like this....

<user>

<client_manager>true</client_manager>

<customer-id>137166</customer-id>

</user>

I really like the option that was raise to let this get set at a system-wide level.  I can see not changing the default for a contact (since that is conceptually overriding the global behavior) but I think it's reasonable to add it at the global level.  In our case we'd always want this to be true.

While it was on the import option and that address the scenario of batch creation, most of our contacts are created dynamically either because a user logged into the site via single sign on or they sent us an email.  We really don't know which of these don't have this option set so it's difficult for us to tell people they can see their company's history without them explicitly requesting it from us.

I wouldnt mind seeing this as an option that an admin can activate at the company level.  i.e. "all current and future customers created with Acme Inc. as their declared company will have this feature enabled"

We also have customers asking for this. Clearly it's not a new request... please could you look into this?

Hello All,

Thank you for your suggestions.

At the moment this wouldn't be possible. But we are happy to explore the possibilities of this feature being picked up. You can follow this space for any updates on the new features/enhancements from us.

Cheers!
