Ticket to forum

When creating a forum item (like an idea) you have the option to "link to ticket" this is misleading as you are not linking to an existing ticket, you must CREATE a ticket.

A common scenario would be a support ticket that comes in that should be converted to a forum post (like a new feature request) that could have public opinion. It would be great to have the ability to create a forum post from a ticket or when creating a forum post, be able to link to an existing ticket as we assumed it could.

This needs to be a high priority, as many of my users are creating tickets when in reality they need to be creating a Forum topic.

This really needs to get added to Freshdesk, as this is the only area where an announcement/notice can easily get posted for the end user to find and view.

...at least a "general" ETA would be nice.

We totally understand the importance of the feature and the good news is that we have decided to take it up. The feature is in its initial stages and it is too early to comment on the ETA. However, we are trying to make it available by early Q2.

You can find the option under 'More' in the ticket page as show below:



When you opt for 'Convert to Topic', you will be redirected to topic creation page and you can go ahead to post the forum topic under the requester's name.
