Ability to create folders for reports in analytics

Hi,

The default folders in analytics are not enough if you have a lot of custom reports. The ability to create custom folders to add to this list would help tidy this up and make your reports if you have a large volume quick and easy to locate

Bump on this As soon as you have more that 30 reports it becomes difficult to navigate. Feels fairly easy to implement too?

Is there also a need to share the folders with other users? Or is the main intent only to categorize/organize reports in folders for one’s own convenience?

Access rights would be helpful as well. 
This needs to be done on Freshservice as well.

I am working on building the folders feature on Analytics.

How do you see the folders feature being used?
We’re looking to better understand how you envision using the folders feature in Analytics for organizing reports. Your feedback will help us design the experience to meet your needs effectively.
Specifically, we’d like your input on the following:

Primary purpose of folders:

  • Do you see folders as a way to privately organize the reports (shared or private) that you personally work on (folders that only you or users with similar access can view)?
  • Or do you see folders as a means to commonly organize reports for all users (creating a shared hierarchy that is accessible and structured for everyone)?
  • Or both capabilities

Who should be able to create folders?

  • Should all user personas, including those with view-only access, be allowed to create folders to organize reports for themselves?
  • Or should folder creation be restricted to specific personas, such as admins or users with edit/manage access, to maintain a consistent structure across the organization?
  • Or both types of users being able to create folders

Your insights on these questions will help us prioritize the feature design to align with your expectations.

For our company:

Primary purpose of folders:

  • Privately organize the reports (shared or private) by Group/Team that is accessible only Admins or individual members of the specific Group/Team.

Who should be able to create folders?

  • Restricted to specific personas, such as Admins or users with edit/manage access, to maintain a consistent structure across the organization.

@Pranav Kumar Singh - I just want to thank you for reaching out to the community to get our perspective.

I would love to see two levels of folders available. I’d like to be able to create one folder under another - having this will allow for a lot of flexibility for organizations.
