The default Hardware asset type contains many fields that do not pertain to us. Since we cannot delete default fields, we are opting to create our own Hardware asset type.

We have already fleshed out our Products - is there a way to add the Product field into a non-default asset type? Are non-default asset types restricted to custom fields only? 
 

 

 

 

Hi.

The way would be by inheritance, but it would inherit all, and that seems is not what you are willing to have, so, unfortunately, you would need to create all fields from scratch in your custom Asset Type, AFAIK.
