After much trial and error, I have finally managed to get MS Power Automate to create a FreshService ticket with a PDF attachment.

 

 

However, while the FreshService ticket shows an 8Mb PDF attachment, When I open the PDF document it’s completely blank.

Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong?

 

ADDITIONALLY: I can send the exact same file in MS Power Automate via email, and the PDF document shows correctly when opened.

Please note the below pointers regarding attachments in Freshservice APIs:

  • Only files on your local machine can be attached using API.
  • The Content-Type should always be multipart/form-data for create/update requests with attachments. The API request must have its Content-Type set to multipart/form-data.
  • The name of the file is preserved after it is attached i.e the filename sent in the response will be the same as the one in the request.
