I am trying to build an automation for a Follow Up Date field I added to tickets. I would like to have it when the date = today a private note is added to the ticket but I am not seeing that this is possible. It looks like I have to select a date but want a more generic option. Has anyone been able to do this?

Greetings from Fresworks community. We can setup a Ticket update Automation rule to add a note when the date filed is updated to a particular date However, it's important to note that for automation, we require a specific condition to trigger the rule. Without a specific condition tied to the Follow Up Date field, creating a generic option may not be feasible for a date field.

If you would like to have a dropdown field named "Followup date as Today," we can explore setting up a Ticket update rule based on that selection to add a note when the Follow Up Date matches today's date.

being about to use Today() in filters is BASE functionality. SHOCKED it’s not in there.

 

Also, setting a field to Today() is also….Basic, minimum requirement….again...SHOCKED
