This seems like a simple issue that must have been addressed somewhere. Please let m know if it has.

When we upload an image to a ticket on the app from an iPhone, it is saved as “HEIC” format. If you try to open that uploaded image in the ticket on an iPhone, it jumps to a browser, asks you to download the image and then doesn’t do anything. Are there any “hacks” out there?  Thanks in advance!

Yeah, HEIC files can be a bit tricky outside the native Photos app on iPhone. A quick workaround is to set your iPhone camera to save images as JPEG under Settings > Camera > Formats, but if you need to convert existing HEIC files easily, there are a few good apps and online tools. I've run into this issue too with HEIC images from iPhones. It's definitely frustrating that they don’t open seamlessly in the app. One workaround I've used is changing the iPhone settings to save photos as JPEG instead of HEIC (under Settings > Camera > Formats), which helps avoid the issue altogether. It would be great if the app could handle HEIC files more gracefully though. Curious to hear if others have found a better solution or workaround, find more

Many iPhone users face issues when uploading HEIC (High Efficiency Image Coding) format images to apps, only to find that they can’t open them again on the same device. This problem often arises because the app either doesn't support the HEIC format properly or compresses the image in a way that iOS can no longer read. While HEIC offers excellent image quality with smaller file sizes, its compatibility issues across different platforms and apps can cause frustration.

This issue usually happens when HEIC images are uploaded without proper conversion or handling on the app’s backend. iPhones capture images in HEIC format to save space, but not all apps or systems are optimized to read them directly once uploaded. If you're uploading HEIC files and then trying to re-access them within the same app, make sure the app supports native HEIC rendering. In some cases, converting the images to JPEG before uploading fixes the issue. Also, check if the app compresses or alters file types during upload — that could break compatibility on iOS.
