Seeking Advice on Freshdesk Integration Best Practices

Our team is currently using an individual's API key to integrate Freshdesk with our company website. While this works, we are exploring better or more secure alternatives.

One suggestion was to purchase a separate Freshdesk license solely for integration purposes, which would provide its own API key dedicated to this functionality. However, we want to know if anyone here has experience with other approaches or recommendations for managing integrations securely and efficiently.

We’d appreciate any insights or suggestions based on your experience. Thank you!

Hi @BLaRue1443 ,

I hope you are doing well :)

I understand that you want to safely integrate your website with Freshdesk.

Note that the integration will work perfectly unless you reset your Freshdesk API or delete agent inside Freshdesk. I would advise you to setup SSO https://support.freshworks.com/en/support/solutions/articles/50000002351-what-is-and-how-to-configure-agent-sso-and-contact-sso-for-an-organization- and 2FA https://support.freshworks.com/en/support/solutions/articles/50000001025-how-can-i-enable-disable-two-factor-authentication- for additional security this way other than the actual account admins nobody can make modifications with agent’s profile.

Feel free to respond to this thread for any queries :)

Thank you
