Question

ReCaptcha cookie & domain configuration for Widget

Hello,

I've recently modified the Content Security Policy of my website by removing https://www.google.com as an allowed domain to be used.

I've replaced that domain with https://recaptcha.net, which, according to their documentation, provides the same functionality while reducing the cookies that may be set by the www.google.com domain. You can find more information here: https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/faq#does-recaptcha-use-cookies

However, since making this change to the CSP, the widget no longer functions.

I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask:

1. Is there any way to configure the widget to use https://www.recaptcha.net instead of https://www.google.com?

2. Is there any possibility to configure the widget to use ReCaptcha V3? This new version is simpler and less intrusive for users.

Thank you in advance.

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Hi.

I'd suggest to raise a Support ticket for this matter. Support should be very diligent for these inquiries.

Regards,

I followed your recommendation, Elvis, and it turned out to be a complete waste of time.

After waiting for 20 days, their response essentially consisted of providing references to the reCaptcha documentation I had already mentioned in my previous emails, reiterating what I already knew.

Every time I need to contact Freshdesk support, it's quite frustrating. The level of frustration and the time wasted are incredible.

It feels like there's no progress to be made when contacting Freshdesk support, and I'm quite disappointed with the response time and the quality of the answers provided.

At this point, I'll assume that it's impossible to configure a different domain (recaptcha.net instead of google.com) to load reCaptcha while using the Freshdesk widget inside my website.

Does anyone know if there's a possibility to submit a feature request for this?

Hi @GSP

Greetings.

Let me address your queries here:

  1. To use https://www.recaptcha.net instead of https://www.google.com - This is currently not feasible in Freshdesk as of today.
  2. For our widgets to use ReCaptcha V3 - This is raised as a feature request with our product team to look into for enhancements.
I believe the ticket you've raised with us is already routed to the feature request queue. We'll ensure to keep you posted on the progress on the ticket.

Feel free to drop a note here in case of any further questions!

Cheers
