Last Used By field to populate Used by

I'm trying to get my asset management in order. Something my company as a whole could benefit from possibly as a workflow or some way to have the Last Login By on the asset page to update the Used By field. Currently we have to hand jam every user into the individual asset and with most of our divisions having 1000+ users per site it can really be a pain

Bulk attachment upload to multiple assets

We’re in the process of retiring multiple assets and require each one to have a certificate of disposal attached to them for audit purposes. The current method of manually going into each asset and uploading the attachment works but will take a long time to do considering the amount of assets we have to get through. Is it possible to create an API that will upload attachments to multiple devices at once?

query re Pro license and assets allowed

Hi, we have a pro license and the accounts screen shows ‘100 free’ assets. I assume that this is just what the license includes rather than a dynamic count against our asset list? Does this literally mean I can only have 100 objects on the asset list in Fresh Service? Will the 101st fail to create? We will mostly be using asset list to list servers and similar. thanks

Viewing Asset Data

I have been spending some time on the asset management part of FreshService as I would really like to use this as my asset database and service catalogue. Using the probe to scan and update asset data looks to be working well and I can see that pretty much all the info I would like on my assets is present. However, I’m struggling with getting a view of the data that is usable to me. Is there any way to get a view or a CSV export that would list all assets (or a filtered sub-set) and list all data associated with that asset? For example, list the make/model, hardware, OS, installed software + version, relationships, serial numbers, associated contracts, custom fields etc etc? I only seem able to get subsets of information and can’t get a whole view.How do you interact and view the asset data? Any tricks or functionality that I’m missing? I’d really like to start using the asset database as the source of truth for the environment but without a way to get the data into a useful view its p

How to auto assign asset used by with Azure

I found how to auto assign assets with Active Directory, but is there a way to auto assign through Azure?I've added the FreshService Provisioning app to Azure and vice, versa. It's working, but not exactly what I need. In workflow the only option is to select a specific person.

Import Hyper-V assets into Freshservice inventory

Hi, we are using Freshservice and need the functionality to sync information about Hyper-V-Hosts and Hyper-V-VMs in the Freshservice inventory.This functionality is already working for VMware vCenter using the VMware VCenter Cloud Discovery-app. But there is no app for Hyper-V.So how can we manage this as workaround on a regular base?Thanks in advance.Regards Stefan.

Freshservice Inventory - Agent - OS Full Build Number

I have been asked by our group to look at inventory solutions. Already using freshservice, i decided to look at the asset inventory agent and probe. I have installed the agent on my device, and it has scanned it for software and populated freshservice, however when I look at the entry for the operating system (Windows 11 Pro), I only see that its version is 10.0.22631, and not the full build number of 10.0.22631.3296. This makes the inventory section useless to me, as its not actually the full version number. Has anybody else experienced this, and are their any workarounds or solutions? Many thanks.

Purchase Order Line Item Limit?

We had a cable order recently and needed to order 17 items. We soon found out that there seems to be a cap on the number of line items on a PO? It seems to be 15 items. Anyone else seen this?

Does the macOS discovery agent not pull in last logged in user?

We deployed the macOS discovery agent to our macOS devices via a 3rd party MDM tool called Kandji. The agents were deployed successfully, however, there is not user association. Wanted to confirm whether it’s possible for the discovery agent on macOS to bring in the user information.

Can't edit the Asset State options for a Asset Type

This link shows how to change the Asset State options: https://support.freshservice.com/en/support/solutions/articles/164414-understanding-the-different-asset-states I have navigated to the appropriate screen.However, under Hardware Properties, I don’t see the default fields for the asset, and therefore cannot edit them.

Can't select a vendor

I am entering a new asset.The Vendor drop down shows no vendors (but I have some loaded).If I add new above the vendor drop down, I can add a new vendor, and it then populates the field.However, if I add new and enter an existing vendor, I am told it is a duplicate.So I know that the vendor table is being validated against when adding a new one, but it isn’t populating the drop down for selection purposes.

How do I hide "place request" button on a service item?

Can anyone tell me how to hide “place request” button on a service item based on the answer to a question the customer gives on a drop down.Basically I want to ask the customer to make sure they have done something before they can continue with the request so I want to hide the place request button until unless they select the yes option in the drop down. thanks

Updating Assets using Powershell

Hello,I’m trying to bulk update assets in our Freshservice with "warranty_expiry_date" from HP and hitting two main problems. One of them is specific to powershell, the second is quite general regarding how asset properties are structured. Hoping someone can help?1) When checking the documentation for updating assets, in the sample code the properties in the "type_fields" section has the suffix "_25", like "product_25". Where does the "_25" come from? What’s that ID doing there? It doesn’t seem to be the ID of the asset and I can’t find any information where it comes from? When checking my own environment I have "_26000456017" and not "_25". But how can I programatically know what to have there when updating the asset if I don’t know what it’s supposed to be? Or is it the ID of the Freshservice instance, in which case it should be the same for all assets (which it appears to be)2) When doing this using powershell I'm getting "415 - Unsupported media type" which is the general error for

So just a question for those utilizing the Discovery Probe/Discovery Agent. In our environment we use the Probe and scan the domain. Would there be any problems caused by using the Probe but also installing the Agent on devices as they are imaged?

Asset workflow for EOL

Hoping someone can help or have a solution to Asset Management EOLDoes anyone have a workflow that will autofill EOL base on the Assigned on date? Recently imported +2k machines to Assets that only had an assigned on date and FS support is telling me I have to manually input EOL. Maybe I’m also just missing the option to export a .csv file that shows hardware acquisition date and warranty expiry date?

New to Software Inventory

I am new here to Software Inventory. Is there a way to run the discovery/probe in a sandbox? I want to run the tools but do not want to alter the hardware assets that are already entered into the system manually. Our Hardware assets are set and looking pretty good. I do not want those items to get messed up.

Purchase Order Number Question

Anyone know if it is possible to change the “Order Number” schema for the Purchase order module? We don’t want it to start with “PO” as this will get confusing with our actual Finance System PO. We are going to use the Purchase order Module in FS to track requesting POs from our finance system, so we want to change this schema to not be PO but maybe order number or something.

Multiple Vendors and URLs on PO Request Form?

We have to route our POs through various levels of approvals (government, ugh!), and before Fresh, we would complete a PDF form that lists the items out like the “Item Details” portion on the Fresh PO form, and then we would insert URLs in the email with the PDF attached to forward it around to all the approvers.Is there a way to select multiple vendors on a single PO, and allow the orderer to add multiple URLs for as many items they are buying? Like, if they want one thing from Amazon, and 3 things from Dell, they could keep adding links for all the individual items they are ordering… Altedrnatively, is there a way to insert a clickable URL in the Item Details portion - in the description field, for instance?

Address attributes visible

It would really help if the address information is visible or at least easy accessible from within a ticket or asset. Now you can only see the identifier and that is not the entire address.To see the complete address you need to be an admin and go to settings-assets-locations.Is there a way to have the attributes like address line, city, postal code, etc visible from within the asset or ticket?

Assigning Assets to a hot desk

Hi all Not sure if this is a question for Assets or Requesters but hopefully I’m in the right place. We have 4 hot desks in the office, we would like to assign the equipment to Hot desk 1, hot desk 2 ect. However I cannot find a way of creating a User/Requester without an email address. Is is possible to create a service account of sorts for each hot desk in the office so I can assign assets to them? Many thanks
